I’m All About Integrated Marketing
Integrated Marketing is defined as “..a comprehensive approach that evaluates the strategic roles of a variety of communication disciplines – advertising, public relations, personal selling, sales promotion, etc. – and combines them to provide clarity, consistency, and maximum communication impact.”
The definition is how I approach all major marketing efforts. I view every potential prospect/customer touchpoint as a channel. All channels have to be aligned with the same messaging and materials. It is the only way to ensure:
- You provide the most compelling information in the way(s) an audience member prefers to find and view it (some like to read, some like videos, etc.).
- You prevent what I call “online whiplash,” where a prospect sees info presented one way via email, social, paid, PR and when they visit another channel, they are hit with contradictory visuals and/or copy.
- You can properly track and analyze how the message/promotion overall is resonating (aka, Are we getting our money’s worth from all this investment?).
